I’ve just returned from a few weeks in Perth where I was far away from any sewing- I didn’t visit a quilt shop or even put a stitch in the project that I took with me, ‘just in case’. But now that I’m back to Wednesday quilting I see that a few new projects have been started in those couple of weeks I was away.
Anne is appliqueing another cat for her grandson’s cat quilt.
Bronwen put together all these blocks that she had left over from another quilt.
Margaret is quilting this colourful little number.
And Naomi has made this bright little cot quilt and is now quilting it.
I am now sewing all the blocks of my latest friendship quilt together.
We compared this quilt with one of Naomi’s that she made some time ago. The block was larger, the segments were about the same size and she used a different fabric for every piece, but basically it’s the same pattern although it looks very different.
And to finish up, here are a few photos of recent projects.
This is Jenny’s finished scrappy quilt, pieced many years ago and recently quilted.
Margaret has over embroidered this piece that she will use to make a cushion for a one of her daughters.
Annette has completed this quilt of poppies.
For over 30 years this pink and green top has been sitting in the cupboard. I just didn’t know know how to quilt it. I started once and pulled the quilting out…. and then finally I decided to have it machine quilted and just get it finished! Alison has quilted it all over with a Baptist Fan design and it looks wonderful. I went shopping yesterday and bought some cream homespun to bind it and by the end of today it will be finished at last.
