Quilting today was at my place. Even though it was a hot and steamy day we quilted away and had lots of ‘Show and Tell’, mainly of the ‘Museum Quilts’ that many of us have been making. The pattern is one of Judy Newman’s designs and we all loved it and made it up in our own individual ways.
Bronwen made this version about 5 years ago. It’s very Bronwen -pretty with lots of pink – a lovely, soft and soothing quilt. She even quilted it using the quilting design in the pattern.
But now, 5 years later, she has made the same quilt again, this time in bright, vibrant yellow and orange, very different from the pale and pretty one of 5 years ago.
Sue is working on a grey and yellow version of the same quilt. She has included some pretty impressive fussy cutting in the centre medallion.
I think it was last year that Annette mad her yellow and grey quilt. Although it basically uses the same colours as Sue is using, her quilt has a entirely different feel – a much more muted palette.
And finally here is my Museum Quilt with the last border added, not the pink that I thought it might be, but a soft greyish-sage colour- just right.
