We love our Wednesdays together and we were all very pleased to be back together again in the New Year. A few of us are away or working but most of us came to my place yesterday.

Naomi was putting the last stitches in a quilt that she and her granddaughter, Hannah made together.

Naomi 2017

Naomi and Hannah chose the fabrics together and laid out them all out and Naomi  finished it off- a combined effort.

Hannah and her quilt watched over by her great great grandfather.

Annette spent most of the day cutting out more greens for her quilt of little 5 inch blocks but gave me a couple of fabrics for my latest project.

Bronwen was quilting another Alice in Wonderland quilt but this one belongs to Jenny who’s away on holidays at the moment.

When Bronwen made her own Alice in Wonderland quilt Jenny gave her a great deal of help with the appliqué and it was really owing to Jenny that Bronwen’s quilt turned out so well. So Bronwen is returning the favour. It’s a bit difficult to make out the quilting pattern from the photos and that’s a shame but if you look hard you may be able to see the diamonds, clubs, hearts and spades in the background. Since it’s all made from Liberty fabrics it’s lovely and soft and a pleasure to quilt.

2017 is off to a great start and I’m sure, like every other year, we’ll make some beautiful quilts for our family and friends. I’m really looking forward to showing them to you as the year goes on and also going back to the nineties and looking at the quilts we were making then.

Happy stitching, Frances
