It’s always a wonderful feeling of satisfaction to put the last stitch in a binding or to finish putting a top together and here are a few examples of both.

Firstly, a couple of finished quilts:

Naomi bought the solids in this one when she was in India some time ago. She has quilted it in straight lines in various coloured threads.

The next one was made by me and I’ve given it to my daughter, Bronwyn, who lives in Canberra. The temperature in Canberra last night was down to 0 degrees so I know it will be appreciated and used. Nearly all the prints in the quilt belonged to Bronwyn, I think I bought four extra ones, so this is the quilt she might have made for herself if she had the time.

Everyone loves Annette’s little green blocks. After much heartache she decided to use a bright pink border of bees and hexagons to contrast with the greens. I think this quilt needs to be quilted right now and not be put away in a cupboard and forgotten.

Pam has a last finished the top of this friendship quilt that we made a few years ago. Some of the feathers were not quite right and she has had to do a bit of fixing before she could join it all together. A great result.

The last three blocks belong to Sue. She used a pattern from Judy Newman’s new book and asked for soft pinks, yellows and greens. It will be a beautiful quilt.

And a thought to leave you with……..
