I’m a bit late with this news from the Friday group but the show and tell was so spectacular that it needs to be seen.
This quilt of Nonie’s was made many years ago and and just recently been quilted. Some of the best quilts are not made in a hurry!
Elaine’s scrappy nine-patch was inspired by an antique quilt that Nonie bought in New York a few years ago. The fabrics Elaine used were all from a range that was based on the fabrics in Nonie’s quilt. Look closely and you’ll see that all the vertical sashing strips are the same fabric but the short horizontal ones are all scrappy.
Elaine also completed this navy and white star quilt in record time to give to her son and daughter in law for Christmas. She machine pieced it and then had it machine quilted.
Lenka’s beautiful medallion is still far from finished but the quilting is very detailed and adds another dimension to what is really a very simple layout. The central appliqué is based on the Ann Dagg quilt that so many of you would know.
This Log Cabin top was also made by Lenka. She pieced the whole top by hand. The little touches of blue make the quilt come alive.
This is a good photo of the Museum quilt that I finished recently.
